True 50/50, provably.
Every EternalFlip outcome is generated using an industry-standard cryptographic commit-reveal scheme — a proven equivalent of VRF for binary events. We publish a tamper-proof hash of the seed before the flip happens, and reveal the seed itself after the flip resolves. Anyone can independently verify that the outcome was unbiased and impossible to manipulate at flip time.
Commit (before the flip)
We hash a secret server seed and publish that hash on the public oracle. The hash is one-way — no one (not even us) can predict the outcome from it, but we are now bound to that exact seed.
Flip (true 50/50)
At the scheduled minute, the seed deterministically produces HEADS or TAILS with exactly 50/50 probability. No house intervention, no bias, no platform stake on the outcome.
Reveal (after the flip)
We publish the original seed. Anyone — you, your friend, a stranger — can re-hash it and confirm it matches the pre-published commit. Outcome was unpredictable and unbiased, period.
- No manipulation: the commit is published before the flip and cannot be changed afterward.
- No house bias: EternalFlip never takes the opposite side of any prediction. Every YES is matched peer-to-peer to a NO. We earn only a small transparent platform fee.
- Fully transparent: the commitment and the reveal are public. Anyone can re-run the verification — no special tools required.
- Honest framing: we use a public commit-reveal scheme today, not Chainlink VRF. As we move to a real-money rail, the same proofs will be anchored on-chain — no change to how verification works for users.
